The land that time forgot! What an incredible destination that has something for everyone. There is so much to see and do on both islands. The food is incredible, the people almost classified as “overfriendly”, and the landscape/topography is awe inspiring. New Zealand is also the adventurers dream providing some of the best adrenaline rushes available….static line jumping, bungy jumping, river rafting, sailing, skiing/snowboarding in the winter, surfing, kiting, SUPing, Scuba, mountaineering, etc. etc.

We ever did a night stand up paddle (SUP) to some caves to witness thousands of glow worms. It was surreal as it seemed as if you were looking up at the starry night sky. Definitely not what Van Gogh envisioned! We visited Auckland, Rotorua, Christchurch, Akaroa, Dunedin, and Queenstown. The North Island was beautiful, and very active with the geothermal pools of Rotorua. The Maori heritage is alive and well in New Zealand, and especially strong in Rotorua on the North Island. Once on the South Island we rented a camper and traveled the island in style! It was definitely a challenge at first driving on the other side of the road, but once I got used to it I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Most of all I enjoyed how easy it was to use the roads and how polite, and courteous all the other drivers were.

Once again, New Zealanders are wonderful people. Campers are an excellent way to view all the amazing areas of the country, and be on the go! I highly suggest it for at least a few days on the islands. We also had the pleasure of staying at some beautiful, unique properties as well. Two of my favorites that I highly recommend are the Silos in Little River right outside of Christchurch, and the Rees in Queenstown (beautiful)! I can go on, and on, and on about New Zealand! It is truly one of the most beautiful, and exciting countries I have ever visited and highly encourage anyone to visit!
